Repairing leaks on single-ply roofing membranes such as TPO, FPO, PVC, and EPDM is fast and highly effective with HSS Sealant Tape. Its advanced MicroSealant® technology creates a permanent, flexible, and weatherproof bond—ideal for flat roofs, commercial roofs, and residential membrane systems.

Follow these steps for a reliable and long-lasting repair:

1. Clean the Roof Surface

Thoroughly clean the damaged area. Remove dirt, dust, algae, grease, and loose material.
Use a membrane-safe roof cleaner, rinse, and allow the surface to dry completely.

A clean, dry surface ensures the strongest adhesion.

2. Inspect the Damage

Locate cracks, punctures, seam failures, or cuts causing the leak.
Remove loose old sealant, flaking membrane edges, or debris with a scraper or brush.

Ensure the repair area is stable and smooth.

3. Measure and Cut the Tape

Measure a piece of HSS Sealant Tape that fully covers the damaged section, leaving at least 1 inch (2–3 cm) overlap in every direction.
Cut the tape using scissors or a utility knife.

4. Peel Off the Backing

Gently peel the protective backing from the tape.
Avoid touching the adhesive side to maintain full bonding strength.

5. Apply the Tape to the Membrane

Place the tape directly over the leak. Start at one edge and work across, pressing as you go to prevent air pockets.
Make sure the tape fully conforms to the membrane’s contours and seams.

6. Press or Roll for Maximum Adhesion

Apply strong, even pressure with your hand or a roller.
This activates the MicroSealant® and ensures a watertight, durable seal that withstands UV, weather, and temperature shifts.

7. Check the Edges

Make sure all edges are fully bonded.
Press them down again if needed to prevent moisture intrusion.

The seal is instant, but allowing the tape to settle for a few hours before heavy rain provides optimal results.
